Paintings - Balance: Single large oil painting on canvas, I have some others which will be part of the set, but I need to photograph them still. This is painted with my Grandfathers old oil colours which are probably around fifty years old now; many of them were dried up and unusable, but I had run out of my own paints, and found his box. Only three colours were soft enough to use, but they just happened to be the ones I needed. After patiently blending to get his musculature, I noticed when the paint dried that in all the darkest areas the paint had cracked. Initially I was disappointed, but actually it has become what I love most about the picture, you can only see it in a certain light, but it makes it look far more interesting (and convincing as a painting rather than a photograph!). Others in the set should be on here soon... This painting was inspired by a photograph taken by the incredibly talented 'Howard Schatz'.
